In mid-October, global fast-food giant KFC launched its 2024 campaign to reduce food waste. KFC has been holding its World Food Day campaigns since 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-dao-insights wp-block-embed-dao-insights\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"9vCyPviv8h\"><a href=\"https:\/\/daoinsights.com\/news\/11-herbs-and-spices-in-your-coffee-kfc-launches-original-recipe-chicken-flavoured-latte\/\">11 herbs and spices in your coffee? KFC launches Original Recipe Chicken-flavoured latte&#8221; &#8212; Dao Insights\" src=\"https:\/\/daoinsights.com\/news\/11-herbs-and-spices-in-your-coffee-kfc-launches-original-recipe-chicken-flavoured-latte\/embed\/#?secret=BOCkXr0cKC#?secret=9vCyPviv8h\" data-secret=\"9vCyPviv8h\" width=\"520\" height=\"293\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In China, KFC created its <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/socialbeta.com\/campaign\/22833\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>\u201cFood Station\u201d(\u98df\u7269\u9a7f\u7ad9) in 2020<\/strong><\/a><strong> to work with its suppliers to give away surplus food in the form of gift bags donated to people and groups in need.<\/strong> This year, the restaurant chain worked with 8 of its suppliers in the country under the instructions of the China Consumers Association to give away over 20,000 gift bags across 100 cities. KFC also awarded the title \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/mp.weixin.qq.com\/s\/rXApixgKT58GN0ySNHDR-g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">K\u2019s Fried Chicken Man<\/a>\u201d (\u80af\u5bb6\u70b8\u9e21\u4fa0) to its partners for the good deeds they did for both reducing food waste and helping out people in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"KFC Food Station Zhu Yilong promo\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1022049811?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"439\" height=\"780\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, KFC also teamed up with its brand ambassador Chinese actor Zhu Yilong to film a short \u201cunboxing\u201d video of the gift bags, showing off how the surplus food is packaged and distributed through the \u201cFood Station\u201d system. On Weibo, China\u2019s Twitter equivalent, the topic \u201cKFC Food Station\u201d (#\u80af\u5fb7\u57fa\u98df\u7269\u9a7f\u7ad9#) <strong>has accumulated over <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/m.s.weibo.com\/vtopic\/detail_new?click_from=searchpc&amp;q=%23%E8%82%AF%E5%BE%B7%E5%9F%BA%E9%A3%9F%E7%89%A9%E9%A9%BF%E7%AB%99%23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>57.08 million views<\/strong><\/a><strong>, with 3.81 million in the past 30 days.<\/strong> This is, of course, partly to do with the star power of Zhu, but it is also effective in bringing interest to the cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-dao-insights wp-block-embed-dao-insights\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"osGD8OfxwJ\"><a href=\"https:\/\/daoinsights.com\/news\/foodie-empress-kfc-launches-microdrama\/\">Foodie empress? Suppliers such as Sheng Nong made themselves visible to general consumers by working with KFC.
