This latest venture is an extension of the Seven Fresh (\u4e03\u9c9c) brand that currently includes JD\u2019s Seven Fresh Supermarkets and Seven Fresh Kitchens.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019ll be stepping into a fierce market, one you might even call saturated. But JD has an ace up its sleeve for the rollout of Seven Fresh Coffee. It\u2019s probably not a stretch to imagine that many Seven Fresh Coffee shops will operate out of established Seven Fresh supermarkets and kitchens. Then there are the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/07\/11\/china-instant-commerce-price-war-billions-subsidies-jd-alibaba-meituan-ele-me.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">billions of RMB in subsidies<\/a> that JD and its rivals pump into the industry to gain a competitive edge. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>None of this is without controversy. A Chinese coffee industry group has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bricscompetition.org\/news\/chinese-coffee-group-urges-jdcom-to-halt-market-disrupting-subsidies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">publicly urged JD to halt its aggressive subsidies<\/a>, warning that deep discounting distorts competition and threatens small caf\u00e9s.
